Trained as both a K-12 teacher and a writing center consultant, I currently am an Associate Professor at Montclair State University. As a tutor for writers of all ages, I believe in meeting writers where they are at and helping them move toward their goals, whether that means refining a particular piece of writing or developing new writerly strategies and practices. I also score AP tests for the Research Essay exam and am familiar with the expectations for writers making the transition from high school to college-level writing. My approach involves building on what the writer already does well and developing a plan for how to move forward on a particular writing task. I believe that all writers have the potential to improve and grow.
